I don't really get into any of these type movies but I have seen the previews. The only thing I thought was......
TOM CRUISE AS A SAMURAI??????? [img]redface.gif[/img]

That's the best they could get?? Sorry, I just can't see Tom Cruise having anything to do with being a samurai. That just grabs me as a football player in a ballerina costume!

yeah.... i completely agree, gg.
my main reason for finding interest in this
movie is because i wish to see how it 'is done'.
i want to see how the movie is portrayed.

while i'll admit that the movie is/can be predictable,
i usually attend predictable movies simply due
to some other nuance that may catch my eye...
usually some aesthetic reason or two.

however... if you wanna talk about football
players in ballerina costumes....

brad pitt in TROY (i think WM may have mentioned
this on her board).

i saw the notation about this movie on yahoo
home page. when i saw that brad pitt was staring,
i got scared and didn't trespass into the
accompanying link as i was sure he'd foul it up.

however........ orlando bloom is in this movie...
and it may be enough to get me to go see it...

but i tell ya, even he wasn't enough to get me
to go see PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN..... or maybe
i was just too lazy [img]redface.gif[/img]

OMG SHATZY!!!! Are you kidding me... P.O.T.C ROCKED!!! Yeah Orlando Bloom was in it, but that whole movie was ALL Johnny Depp! Johnny Depp made that movie what it was. Lamar of the movie reviews said he looked like he was having so much fun, he would have paid them to be in it.
P.O.T.C was sssssssssoooooooooo good girl!!!!
You should REALLY check it out when it comes out on DVD & video!

As far as the Brad Pitt part.....what is this? Are they getting so old now that they have to take any movie script that is thrown to them? Or is movie producers so desperate and cant get the new hot stars to do the movie, they will offer anyone the part that will take it? Things just aren't going together in the movies lately?
All these movies are being miscasted if ya ask me.

i agree. and i think its due largely like you said,
fear of new people.... comfort in familiarity.

then again, it could be that someone owes someone
a favor and a deal is struck. who knows...

i wanted to see the pirates movie... i just
never got around to it. so yeah, i'll definitely
check it out when it comes out... if i can

POTC was great!
And the last samurai is on the to see list, just like troy, i wonder how they're gonna bring the story.

And for some reason i want to see master and commander too.

Nice to see so many movies set in the past lately, i love the way they make it look, dress it up etc. Looks like a trend [img]smile.gif[/img]
